That’s the message Dan Roam delivers in Draw To Win.
His point is that showing pictures help persuade people to act or buy your idea. It’s a simple but accurate message. Words matter, but pictures rule everything around us.
Here’s a recent example. You want to persuade people to support an advocacy campaign. You send multiple emails with persuasive copy. You explain the reasoning and direct people to a website. A chunk of people support the cause but a large majority don’t. So you send the people who don’t another email with an image that makes the campaign personal.
The results: several hundred people add their support to the campaign.
I need to draw more often.
